Featuring Michael F. Cannon, Director of Health Policy Studies, Cato Institute; and Louise Bennetts, Associate Director of Financial Regulation Studies, Cato Institute; moderated by Richard W. Rahn, Senior Fellow, Cato Institute, Chairman, Institute for Global Economic Growth.

Join us for Cato Club Naples—an exclusive monthly luncheon held in season for Cato Sponsors whose annual contribution is $1,000 or more. This month’s luncheon features a discussion with Cato scholars Michael Cannon and Louise Bennetts.

Though President Obama has won reelection, the future of his health care law hinges on whether states will implement the law’s health-insurance “exchanges” and massive expansion of Medicaid. Michael F. Cannon will explain how states can force Congress to reopen Obamacare, and predicts that before President Obama’s second term ends, he will sign major changes to Obamacare into law.

In addition to a burdensome and unprecedented health care law, the past couple of years ushered in tumultuous times for U.S. and global financial markets. Louise Bennetts will explains why the Dodd-Frank Act is still a long way from being implemented and will focus on the uncertainties surrounding the regulatory implementation of the Act, the broad discretion given to banking regulators, and the attendant costs for the financial industry.
