Improving Lives Through Education
The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Passaic County helps the county’s diverse population improve their lives through an educational process that uses science-based knowledge.

Rutgers Cooperative Extension focuses on issues and needs relating to areas including:
  • Agriculture and the environment
  • Management of natural resources
  • Food safety, quality, and health
  • Family stability
  • Economic security
  • Youth development

About the Partnership
Rutgers Cooperative Extension is a partnership of three levels of government:
  • County - Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders
  • State - Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
  • Federal - United States Department of Agriculture

The partnership was established by the Smith-Lever Act in 1914. Rutgers Cooperative Extension is a unit of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station.
