Operations & Public Buildings
Functions
The Public Works Department is charged with maintaining the eight county building complexes and the county infrastructure, which includes 247 miles of roadway, 338 bridges and culverts, and the county drainage system.

Divisions
There are three divisions within Public Works and each has its own responsibilities.
  • Engineering Department - Charged with preparing all plans and specifications for work performed on county infrastructure
  • Operations Department - Charged with supervising repair work for and inspection of all county roads, as well as snow removal on county roadways
  • Buildings and Grounds Department - Charged with maintaining the County Administration Building and other county-owned facilities
