Office of Weights & Measures
Purpose
The Office of Weights and Measures oversees an inspection and enforcement program that in recent years has had great success in exposing and prosecuting gas stations involved in fraudulent practices.

Consumer Protection
The Consumer Protection Department, working under the Consumer Fraud Act, investigates and mediates complaints by consumers against businesses. Both of these programs are vital in protecting the welfare of consumers in Passaic County.

Complaint Form
A consumer must submit the following:
  • A brief explanation of what transpired.
  • Any paperwork backing up their statement with photo copies, not originals. Photo copies include the following: receipts, rebate information, canceled checks, contract, proposals, retail installment contract, warranty, and guarantee.
  • Consumer's information.
  • Subject's information.
  • Complaint must be signed and dated. Otherwise, we can not start our mediation process without this information.
