On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3247, under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage.  H.R. 3247 was introduced by Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) on October 24, 2011, and referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

This legislation would designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1100 Town and Country Commons in Chesterfield, Missouri, as the "Lance Corporal Matthew P. Pathenos Post Office Building.”

Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew P. Pathenos died February 7, 2007 while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq.  The 21-year old was from Ballwin, MO, and was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division.

According to CBO, any costs related to new post office designations, which include the cost of changing the name on the building, signs, and maps, are not significant.
