Chris Canty - DL - Giants

Giants DT Chris Canty is headed for a Monday MRI on his left knee.

Canty left Sunday's ugly loss to the Ravens knee early and appeared to be in pain afterward. The run-stuffer opened the season on the PUP list due to knee woes.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - Bills

The Bills can actually save nearly $500K by cutting Ryan Fitzpatrick after this season.

According to the Buffalo News, it now "seems obvious" Fitzpatrick will be released or have his contract restructured. He's received $21 million of a six-year, $62 million contract he signed on Oct. 28, 2011. Since then, the Bills have gone 7-18 and Fitzpatrick has to shoulder a lot of the blame. He's managed just 211.7 yards per game this year while throwing 16 interceptions and losing six fumbles. His 82.9 passer rating ranks 19th in the league. The Bills could show interest in replacing Fitz with Michael Vick this spring.

Anquan Boldin - WR - Ravens

Coach John Harbaugh suggested that the shoulder injury Anquan Boldin sustained in Sunday's win over the Giants is minor.

Harbaugh didn't address Boldin specifically after the game, but he say, "we don't have any injuries that are of note. Right now, everything looks like it's minor." Boldin looked like he just banged the shoulder hard into the turf, likely resulting in a contusion. He might have come back in the game if the Ravens weren't up 30-7 early in the fourth quarter.

Justin Smith - DL - 49ers

Coach Jim Harbaugh admitted that he doesn't know if RE Justin Smith (elbow) will be back for the playoffs.

Smith had started 185 straight games before Sunday night, so we know his injury is serious. The Seahawks proceeded to relentlessly attack backup Ricky Jean Francois and managed to limit the effect of Aldon Smith in the process. Marshawn Lynch ended up with 111 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries, with much of that production coming over the right side.

Andrew Luck - QB - Colts

Andrew Luck has set the record for the most passing yards by a rookie quarterback.

The record lasts all of one year. In 2011, Cam Newton threw for 4,051 yards while breaking Peyton Manning's mark of 3,739 yards set in 1998. Now, Luck has 4,183 with one game to play. "It definitely means something, and after the season I'll have a chance to reflect back on it," he said.

Adrian Peterson - RB - Vikings

Coach Leslie Frazier confirmed that Adrian Peterson (abdomen) will play in Week 17.

Peterson was rested on the final drive of a 10-point game against the Texans Sunday, but it's not a real concern. If the game was in doubt, he would have been out there. Peterson will be gunning to eclipse 2,000 yards and propel the Vikings to the playoffs against the Packers come Sunday. He currently stands at 1,898 rushing yards.

Randall Cobb - WR - Packers

A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk X-rays of Randall Cobb's injured ankle came back negative, and the Packers believe he's avoided "significant damage."

An MRI will still be required to rule out ligament damage, but it's looking like the Packers have dodged a bullet with their new No. 1 receiver. Even with the No. 2 seed on the line, it's possible the Pack will exercise caution and hold Cobb out against the Vikings, but it's looking like he'll be good to go for the playoffs in Title Town. Cobb's status will be updated Monday.
