  • The 13th Congressional District & Map

Ohio's 13th Congressional District truly is a great place to live, raise a family and do business. Congresswoman Sutton has lived most of her life in and around the communities that make up much of the district, and she is proud to represent the people and places she knows and loves so much.

Originally nicknamed the “Turnpike District”, the 13th Congressional District’s unique shape traces across the shoreline of Lake Erie in Lorain County, captures the “Emerald Necklace” of the Cleveland MetroParks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and extends south to include the Portage Lakes State Park in Summit County. The 13th Congressional District is also home to institutions of higher learning such as Lorain County Community College and The University of Akron.

The 13th Congressional District stretches across four of Northeast Ohio’s most populous counties, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Medina, and Summit, and it includes all or some of over thirty communities.

Rep. Sutton's Offices are Now USO Collection Points

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Betty Sutton announced today that her Ohio district offices are now USO drop-off points. Starting today, the offices, located in Lorain and Akron, will serve as mechanisms to receive items to be sent to troops stationed overseas.

The USO has provided a list of suggested care-package items, which is available online here. Suggestions range from snack foods to lotions, disposable cameras, and toothpaste. Since troops often must carry everything with them, the USO urges that all donations be of travel-sized items.

Congresswoman Sutton's Akron office is located at 1655 West Market Street, Room 435. The phone number for the Akron office is (330) 865-8450.

Congresswoman Sutton's Lorain office is located at St. Joseph's Community Center, 205 West 20th Street, Room M230.The phone number for the Lorain office is (440) 245-5350.

Items may be dropped off between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm any weekday. Both offices are prepared to begin collecting care packages immediately. Due to lengthy holiday shipping delays, everyone is encouraged to drop off care packages as soon as possible.

In addition to serving as a USO collection point, Rep. Sutton's district offices provide many other services to residents of the 13th Congressional District. Staff can assist constituents in their interactions with federal agencies, help set up tours at various Washington, DC locations, help order flags flown over the Capitol, find government documents, and assist organizations in receiving grants from the federal government. A complete list of services provided by Rep. Sutton's office is available online at http://sutton.house.gov.
