Merry Christmas! You might be learning an important lesson today. Namely: ALWAYS HAVE EXTRA BATTERIES ON HAND AT ALL TIMES.
If you ever suffered the shame of seeing your father get up and change channels on the television MANUALLY because the remote's batteries were in someone's Walkman, you remember how hard it can be on a family with everything they could ever want except power. And maybe, just maybe, you swore an oath to never let that happen to you again.
But today, you're looking at your son's first portable shaver and thinking I DID IT! I BECAME MY PARENTS! It's a hard thing to face, friend. And it's a feeling that should only be reserved for judging horrible teen comedies and new forms of electronic music.
The long and the short of it? Buy these AA batteries. Buy them now, today, and keep them in a drawer or something. They'll power everything from that stupid pager Grandad refuses to get rid of to that smoke alarm that goes off every year at roughly two in the morning, Christmas night.
The two things worth their weight in gold are dignity and sleep. Having batteries on hand can offer you both. And, if nothing else, you can wave one at a Philly fan and make 'em SUPER mad. Trust us, we know first hand.
