Puffin announces the release dates for the first-ever Diary of a Wimpy Kid ebooks. Available for download on October 31, 2012 will be books 1-6 in the bestselling series. The seventh book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel, will also become available in ebook simultaneously with the publication of the hardcover book on November 14, 2012.

Razorbill UK Acquires New Adult Self-Published Bestseller
London, 4th September 2012: Razorbill, the teenage imprint of Penguin Children's, has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in six books by New York Times bestselling author Tammara Webber, including the smash-hit New Adult title Easy. Rights were acquired by editorial director Shannon Cullen from Kate McLennan at Abner Stein, on behalf of Lauren Abramo of Dystel & Goderich. Webber has self-published her books since 2011, and this is her first publishing deal in the English language, with foreign rights sales to Germany, Italy, Spain and France.

Penguin announces half-year results and looks ahead to a strong second half
London, 27th July 2012: Penguin, the international publishing company, today announced its results for the first half of 2012. The industry continued to be characterized by dramatic growth in digital retail channels, self-publishing and pressure on high street booksellers and was dominated by two trilogies, The Hunger Games and Fifty Shades of Grey. Penguin's first half numbers reflect some impact from these challenges, combined with a lighter first-half publishing schedule, particularly in North America. Sales were £441m (£457m in 2011) and operating profit was £22m (£42m in 2011).
