Online Police Report Filing
Online Reporting System Requirements
Welcome to the Bismarck Police Department Citizens Online Reporting System. If this is an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. Using this online system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the report for free. Please confirm the following to find out if online filing is for you:
  • This is not an emergency
  • This incident occurred within Bismarck city limits
  • There are no known suspects
  • This did not occur on a state freeway

If you answered yes to all of the above, you are ready to file your report online. Please make sure to turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report. If you answered no to any of the above, please refer to the Online Reporting System FAQs

Filing the Report
Online Report Filing Instruction Guide

Once you have completed your police report, you will:
  • See "Your online police report has been submitted," which means your police report is complete
  • Be given a police report case number
  • Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records

Please note that all cases filed using the online system will be reviewed. If further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted. Filing a false police report is a crime.

Submit an Online Police Report after comfirming the requirements above for the following incidents:
  • Vandalism
  • Vehicle Vandalism -If damage is caused by unknown vehicle, this is considered a HIT & RUN and report must be filed directly to the Bismarck PD
