James "Jim" Clark

James (Jim) Engle Clark, 63, of Marmet, passed away Tuesday, December 4, after a sudden onset illness. He was born in Logan, but spent most of his life in Marmet and was a medically disabled retiree of Union Carbide/Dow Chemical. He later received a heart transplant in 2004, which kept him in the arms of his loving wife and family for another eight years. After his death, he ultimately has been able to fulfill his wish to further donate some of his own organs. Jim had been in Cincinnati with family caring for his daughter, Makayla, who is in the Children's Hospital fighting cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kay (Radcliff) of 29 years; daughters, Brittany and Makayla; sons, Christopher, James (wife Tiffany), Shaun, and Andy; sisters, Joanna Feazell (husband Paul) and Connie Joslin; granddaughter, Emily (EJ); mother-in-law, Carol Radcliff; sister-in-law, Debbie (Radcliff) Hanning (husband James), brothers-in-law, Mike Radcliff (wife Patty), Rusty Radcliff (wife Lisa) and Greg Bryant (wife April); along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ruford and Velva (Eskins) Clark.

Jim was a caring, loving father and husband. He was involved with the kids and their sports/activities, and was an organizer of the Marmet soccer league, in addition to being a Shriner. Jim was probably best known as a huge Mountaineer fan, having attended the last seven bowl games in a row, and including every Gator Bowl. His TV room is all gold and blue filled with memorabilia. He even got to speak with Coach Huggins when the coach called to cheer on Makayla in the hospital this October. After his heart transplant, he spent his days caring for Makayla, who now knows he's in heaven talking football with Coach Stew. In his last days Jim was overwhelmed by the community support shown and passed peacefully with family present and Country Roads playing in his ear.
