Two-time defending champion Alabama is No. 1 in the preseason national coaches' poll. The Crimson Tide was ranked second in the preseason poll the last two years.

Alabama had a flair for the dramatic back in April when it squeaked by Florida in the final event of the national championship meet outside of Atlanta. The Crimson Tide won its second title in a row.
