Welcome to the U.S. Commercial Service Mexico

The U.S. Commercial Service in Mexico is committed to advancing the goals of the National Export Initiative, which aims to create more and better paying jobs and enhance the U.S. economic recovery through the doubling of U.S. exports in five years.  Mexico is the United States’ second largest export market resulting in over USD 850 million of trade taking place each day. U.S.-manufactured products enjoy duty free import benefits under the North American Free Trade Agreement giving U.S. businesses a quality versus cost advantage over other foreign manufacturers. The growth of the Mexican economy, U.S.-Mexico trade, geographic proximity and the similarity in business cultures gives U.S. manufacturers and U.S.-based service providers ample opportunity to grow their market share in Mexico.

The U.S. Commercial Service promotes the export of U.S. goods and services and protects U.S. business interests in Mexico. Our expert staff of Commercial Officers and Industry Specialists provide trade counseling, market intelligence, Mexican trade contacts, and access to trade promotion opportunities and trade advocacy. Our Commercial Service Mexico team (CS Mexico City, CS Monterrey and CS Guadalajara) has identified major projects and opportunities in the following priority industry sectors for U.S. exports to Mexico: Aerospace, Automotive, Education, Energy and Environmental, Franchising, Health & Medical, Information and Communications Technology, Infrastructure Transportation, Plastics, Travel and Tourism, and Safety and Security.  Over the last year, CS Mexico’s trade experts generated over USD 1.2 billion of US exports to Mexico – roughly $421 for each US taxpayer dollar invested in the U.S. Commercial in Mexico.
