The mission of the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce is to enhance economic opportunity and quality of life in Edmond. A central component of our ability to achieve this mission is a positive business climate, one that promotes expansion and entrepreneurship. -

Oklahomans should demand the truth from the coalition supporting S.Q. 766. Unfortunately, this coalition has decided to attack Oklahoma judges rather than address the devastating cuts S.Q. 766 imposes on public schools, career technology centers and county government. -

In just a few days, it will be Nov. 1 and one thing that means here in Oklahoma is that people with conceal carry permits for handguns will be able to openly carry them most anywhere in the state. -

Parents are the key to teen driver safety. It just makes sense — the more involved parents are in their teens’ driving life, the safer teens will be on the road. -
LETTER: Reader wants trash ordinance enforced along I-35
To the Editor:
Everyone who drives along I-35 between Covell Road and Sooner Road on a regular basis is aware of the fact that trash routinely blows out of the semi-trailer trucks carrying trash from the transfer station to the landfill, causing a safety problem for drivers and leaving the highway littered with trash. -
Section 8 housing needs reform
Section 8 housing is in need of tighter restrictions and reform. Our entitlement programs have become overused and abused to the point that it is costing us more than we ever realized. The Section 8 Reform, Responsibility and Accountability Act is something that all of us with the power to vote need to encourage our representatives in Congress to stand behind.

The paradox of war — death, sadness, love, happiness — is not by choice. The controversy over Lt. Michael Behenna’s imprisonment for actions while sacrificing his honor and duty during combat offers no explanation for what is right or wrong. -
Hinkle right on target about government largesse

I always enjoy reading Mike Hinkle’s commentaries, but the one on “Government largesse” from July 21, 2012, was a gem. -
