Robbin’ Little Kids For Bags

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Here’s my feeble attempt at a Halloween related post. It’s funny how I immediately associate this song with this day even though only one of the verses actually refers to the holiday, and at the end of that verse Bushwick Bill reveals that the events that he just described didn’t even really happen on October 31st.

At any rate, if lazy, half ass posts aren’t your thing, over at XXLMag.com, Bfred has shown some initiative and compiled a comprehensive list of some of hip hop’s spookiest/goriest/most gruesome compositions.

Bill O’Reilly On Oprah

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Damn Oprah, you can have this bonehead on your show, but no Cube?

Other than a passing reference to ‘gangsta rap’ at the end of this first clip, this exchange doesn’t really have anything to do with hip hop. On the other hand it has everything to do with hip hop.

If you can bear this guy for 40 minutes, I’ve taken the liberty of creating a Youtube playlist of all 5 clips that comprise the entire episode. If not, then at least do yourself a favor and check out the airing out Letterman gives him at the beginning of the last clip. I saw it live, and it gets better everytime you see it.

Derrick Parker kicks it with Erik Parker about the Jam Master Jay murder investigation.

Man, do I hate writing the phrase “hip hop cop.” Now there’s an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

This story about this little girl who got shot in Harlem is awful, but another disheartening detail in the article was the fact that DJ Webstar was signed to a $1.7 million deal.

All Rise For Hip Hop’s National Anthem

Well this is refreshing. An article about violence in music, that barely mentions hip hop.

Bill Cosby is at it again.
