Biggert to Host Road to Employment Job Fair

WHO:
- U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th)
- Village of Orland Park
- Orland Park Chamber of Commerce

WHAT:
Biggert, in collaboration with the Village of Orland Park and the Orland Park Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a Road to Employment Job Fair to connect job seekers with potential employers, and equip them with the tools they need to conduct a successful job search through informative workshops addressing: resume writing; interview techniques; and the application process for employment with the federal government.

WHEN:
10 am to 2 pm, CST, Tuesday, September 14th

WHERE:
Orland ParkSportsplex
11351 W. 159th St.
Orland Park, IL

WHY:
Biggert is hosting a Road to Employment Job Fair to connect job seekers with great career opportunities from within a wide spectrum of industries at some of our area’s top employers, large and small.  Attendees also can take advantage of workshops that are designed to teach job seekers how to excel at the online job search, write an excellent resume, or stand out during an interview.  There also will be a presentation on how to find federal employment using http://USAJOBS.gov

“With unemployment remaining near the double-digits, even highly-qualified individuals are finding it increasingly difficult to find job opportunities,” said Biggert.  “At the fair, job seekers will have the opportunity to pass out resumes and make real connections with area employers that are currently hiring.  This is a great event where jobs seekers will not only meet with employers, they will have access to professional advice and resources designed to help them conduct a successful job search.  In Washington, I’m fighting for jobs by working against tax hikes and pushing legislation to boost small businesses, but here at home, personal connections can make all the difference for someone looking for work, and that’s what this event is all about.”

No pre-registration is required for job seekers.  Employers are encouraged to accept resumes, and schedule follow-up interviews.  For questions, call Biggert’s Willowbrook office at (630) 655-2052.
