After an extremely difficult season in 2011 and the departure of quarterback icon Peyton Manning, the Indianapolis Colts are rebuilding with new front-office staff, new coaches and a bunch of new players. To say that 2012 will be a rebuilding season for the Colts is an understatement. Now that we know Stanford QB Andrew Luck will be the Colts’ new QB, we can start preparing to root for a #12 instead of a #18.
The NFL just released the 2012 schedule and the Colts honestly have a schedule that should enable them to come out with 5 to 7 wins for the year. Depending on how quickly the team gels and how Andrew Luck does at QB, the Colts have a fairly favorable home schedule with the Green Bay Packers (10/7) and Houston Texans (12/30) being the Colts’ toughest home games for the year. On the road, two of the most difficult games for the Colts will definitely be the (seemingly annual) game against the New England Patriots (11/18) (although the Colts’ were a converted onside kick away from a win against New England last year) and the Detroit Lions (12/2).
Although wins may not come as often as Colts fans are used to in 2012, they’re hopefully building a foundation to result in another 15 years of stellar play that we saw with Peyton Manning at the helm.
The Colts 2012 Schedule is below (All times are PM Eastern). We’ll keep this schedule updated throughout the season with game results.
GO COLTS!
