5th District Students Accept Appointments to U.S. Service Military Academies

U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, recently held a ceremony to honor local students for accepting appointments to top military service academies. "Each year, it is a great honor for me to nominate bright Louisianans to serve our nation and further their education at our nation's military service academies," said Alexander. "Receiving an appointment to a service academy is one of the most esteemed accomplishments a college-bound student can achieve. Isaac Hunter Eilts, Alexandria Laureys, Caleb Smith, John Carson and Cecil Fairchild exemplify the strength and discipline needed to excel. I am extremely proud of them and their accomplishments."
