Biggert Statement on November Jobs Report

Washington, DC– U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) today issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Labor reported that the unemployment rate last month dropped to 8.6 percent from 9 percent:

“Every new job is something to be grateful for this season, but we’ll need to grow much faster before America’s 14 million unemployed workers can find the security they deserve.  Unfortunately, far too many of our House-passed jobs bills remain stalled in the Senate.  Congress has made bipartisan progress on items like trade and patent reform, but the real jolt we need will only come when the President and the Senate work with us to cut the debt and give job creators the certainty they need to start growing again.  This week, the House will pass another set of proposals to ease the regulatory burdens on American job creators, and they deserve the full support of members on both sides of the aisle.”
