Uhh, the Meuse is a river in Belgium, the Black Forest is in south-west Germany.

It's not even that. Black Forest farm houses have a very distinctive style. This one looks far more alpine.

This photo is in the June 30, 1915 edition of "Illustrated World News" with a similar caption, noting that the Germans seem to fill their leisure time with architecture, as opposed to the British soldiers' love of gardening. It says the photo is from "an enemy newspaper:."
