- Synopsis:
- In January 2001, En-Wei "Eric" Chang, a businessman from Taiwan who represented a Maryland defense contractor, attempted to obtain photo satellite images of Tehran for a customer in Iran. During the summer of 2002, Chang and a partner attempted to purchase four cavity-backer spiral antennas, which are used for radar detection. Chang's partner was arrested in February 2003, after he took possession of the antennas and attempted to export them to Taiwan for eventual shipment to Iran. Chang was indicted on February 13, 2003, for conspiracy to export U.S. Munitions List items to the Iranian military.
