What is Email hosting from Go Daddy?

Email Hosting

Our Email hosting plans give you the best of both worlds. You can even access your mail from your iPhone®, BlackBerry® or Android®

You're in good hands. Rest easy knowing we offer 99.9% availability, expert support 24/7, secure email with 256-bit encryption, and strong virus, spam, and fraud protection.

For more information, see Email product support page.

What are the benefits of having a paid email account?

We know how important you and your company are. Having domain-based email addresses, like info@coolexample.com, with email hosting at Go Daddy is going to take your company's mail to the next level. Not only does it show everyone a constant reminder of your company, but it also shows that you are serious about your business.

Your personalized email address works as word-of-mouth advertising for your website and your company. Every time you send an email from one of our email accounts, you're giving the world your domain name and encouraging your customers to visit your website.

You can create a unique address that's memorable by using your first name (keith@coolexample.com), or the department your in (sales@coolexample.com) as your mail.

Go Daddy email plans are ad-free, unlike most email providers or free email services, so there aren't any distracting or invasive ads polluting your messages.

With email hosting from Go Daddy, you get more than just your email addresses. Every plan includes a free Online Calendar account for managing your schedule, as well as 1 GB of free Go Daddy Online Storage.

What's the difference between IMAP and POP?

Our email accounts offer two different types of email, POP and IMAP. If you are looking to use your webmail with only one computer or email client, it is best to use a POP account. If you are looking to use your email address with a few different computers or clients, it is best to use an IMAP account.

Currently, our Unlimited Email Plan offers IMAP.

To verify what type of account you have, see Finding Your Email Settings with the InfoCenter.

I just bought an email plan. Now what?

In order to get your mail, you need to activate your email hosting. Go to GoDaddy.com and click on the My Account button near the top-right of the page. Type your Customer Number or Login Name and Password into the boxes and click the Enter key on your keyboard.

In the Email section, pick the account you'd like to activate and click the Set Up button for that account. The next few steps are pretty easy – just select the account you want to set up and the domain you want to associate with your email addresses, and then click Set Up. Press the F5 button on your keyboard to refresh the page, and then click Launch next to your account.

Click the Add button, and then enter in your email address, followed by your password. Enter how much space you want your mailbox to have, and then click OK. You should now be getting emails!

It might take anywhere from 5 to 48 hours for your email account to be up and running. We'll email you all of the account details once it's ready to go.

For more information, see Managing Email Products.

My domain, or web hosting, is with another provider, how do I set my email account up?

Don't worry, we've got you covered. Once you set up your email plan, you can visit the Email InfoCenter to get your specific email settings. You'll need to gather all the information and contact your domain or web hosting provider to help you configure your mail settings correctly.

For more information, see Finding Your Email Settings with the InfoCenter.

How do I set my email account up on my mobile phone, tablet, or Outlook?

We've got the support you need. Whether you're planning to use your email hosting on your iPad®, BlackBerry or another device, we've got step-by-step instructions just for you, including your SMTP server.

For more information on your specific device, see our list of email clients.
