Legislative Assistant

Legislative Assistant – Midwest Republican Member seeks a Legislative Assistant with a focus on Tax, Social Security, Immigration and background in Budget issues & process.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing constituent correspondence, preparing Member for briefings and floor activities, developing legislative initiatives, representing Member in constituent and interest group meetings. The successful candidate should have prior Capitol Hill experience as a Legislative Assistant, exceptional writing ability, a self-starter, a creative thinker and knowledge of the legislative process.  Position includes a broad portfolio including and not limited to Pensions, Labor, Judiciary as well as Welfare/UI/TANF.  Please send a resume and cover letter to oh.la.job@gmail.com with "Legislative Assistant" in the subject line.  Ohio ties are a plus, but not necessary.
