Thanks for using Storify! Storify gives you a unique way to curate social media sources to create your own original and beautiful stories.
Storify takes copyright and IP protection seriously. This means we will take all necessary steps to protect your rights, and we expect you to do the same of others’ rights.
As a user, you are ultimately responsible for obtaining the rights to the items that you place in your stories. You must comply with the terms and conditions of all of the sites where the content originally appears. You are also responsible for obtaining the rights to any photos, videos or any other content that you embed in your stories depending on how you are using them.
And now for the fine print ...
Storify is a Web application (“Website”) that provides social media curation and publishing services, and is owned and operated by Storify Inc., a Delaware corporation. By accessing, browsing, and/or using the Website, you are deemed to accept this Agreement and agree to be bound by it.
Storify reserves the right to modify these terms of service (“Terms of Service”) at any time and will make reasonable efforts to notify users when it has done so. You agree that your use of the Website is subject to the Terms of Service then in effect. If you do not agree to be bound by all of the terms of this Agreement, please do not access, browse and/or use the Website.
Users must comply with all laws and regulations, and users affirm that they are legally able to enter into a contract for services under these terms.
Who Our Site is Meant For
Storify is meant to be used only by persons age 13 and over who agree by these terms of service. It may not be used for purposes not in accordance with local, state, national or international law.
Content
On Storify, you create stories by curating content from other Web sites and through the public APIs of other Web services. You, and not Storify, are entirely responsible for all content that you use on Storify. While Storify enables you to search for and curate content from other sites, we do not control the content posted and do not guarantee the accuracy or integrity of such content. Storify cannot be held liable for any damages arising from the use of such content.
Storify strives to comply with the terms of service of other third-party APIs and sites being used within its platform. No rich media content such as video, photos or other similar content is stored on our servers. Storify only provides links to the rich media content. We bear no responsibility for the content, nor liability for the reposting of the content, contained in those links.
Storify does not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy or reliability of any stories created on Storify, nor does Storify endorse any opinions expressed using our site. You acknowledge that any reliance on material posted via Storify will be at your own risk.
By using Storify, you agree not to create stories that include illegal or libelous language and you are solely responsible for the repercussions of posting such material. Storify reserves the right to alter or delete any content on the site, and to cancel the accounts of any user who fails to comply with these Terms of Service.
Compliance with the Terms and Conditions of Other Sites
Storify helps you attribute content to original sources and access public APIs in accordance with the terms of use of those sources, but you agree that it is solely your responsibility to follow the terms of use of the sources that you place into your stories.
You must comply with the Terms and Conditions of the sources that you curate content from. By using this Website, you agree that Storify shall bear no responsibility for any violation in the terms of use of other sites.
Storify does not control the privacy policies of other third-party websites to which it provides links or access, and the information collection and dissemination policies of such websites are not governed by Storify’s Privacy Policy. As a result, if you decide to make use of any of these third-party websites or services, you should review their privacy policies.
Storify’s Rights to Your Content
You grant Storify a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, use, distribute, modify and make derivative works from your Content and curated stories. You also grant each user of the Website a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to access your Content through the Website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, and display such Content as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms of Service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Storify from any claim arising from use of Content in the application. You agree that Storify shall bear no responsibility for a violation in the terms of use of other sites whose content is used within the application.
Disclaimer
All services and content on the site are provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Storify can monitor activity and content on the site but has no obligation to do so, and offers no guarantees for the accuracy or quality for any media on its site or from other media sources and sites that appears on our site or any sites where Storify is used.
By accepting these Terms of Service, you agree that Storify, its directors, employees, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates and other partners shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from use of the service, any damages for loss of use, profits or goodwill or any other punititive or consequential damages of any kind relating to any use of content on Storify or distributed on other sites through the application.
Privacy
Please review our privacy policy, which governs how information is collected and used on the Website. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms of Service and is incorporated herein by reference.
Copyright Disputes
Storify makes every effort to insure that original sources receive attribution and are included in stories according to the terms of service of their originating site. We will respond to valid DMCA takedown notices of alleged copyright infringment. Our response to valid takedown notices may include removing the infringing material and suspending user accounts. We will also contact the owner of the affected material so that they may make a counter notification.

No Waiver
The failure of Storify to exercise or enforce any portion of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver or modification of any such right or position.
Miscellaneous
These Terms of Service constitute the entire agreement between you and the Storify with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes any other agreements, written or oral.
You agree that any claim, action or proceeding arising out of these Terms of Service, or your use of the Website, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the State of California and must brought solely in a state or federal court in San Francisco County, California and any appellate court from any thereof. You unconditionally submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of such courts for any such action and waive, to the fullest extent you may legally and effectively do so, any objection or defense you may now or hereafter have (including without limitation the defense of an inconvenient forum) to the laying of venue in any such court of any such suit, action or proceeding.
If any portion of these Terms of Service is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unlawful, void, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the court shall endeavor to give effect to the parties’ intention as reflected in that portion and the portion shall be deemed severable from these Terms of Service and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining portion, which will remain in full force and effect.
If the user is a United States federal government agency, this amendment applies to this agreement.
