Rihanna 'Styled to Rock': Singer to Executive Produce & Star in New Series

NEW YORK (AP) - Pop star Rihanna is getting into the TV business.

The 24-year-old singer will executive produce and star in the new series, "Styled to Rock," for the Style network. Style Media made the announcement Wednesday.

The 10-episode series, to air next year, will give 12 aspiring designers, chosen by Rihanna, an opportunity to style A-list stars. The weekly celeb guest will decide which designer did the best job. One contestant will be sent home, and those remaining will advance to the next week's challenge. At the end, one aspiring designer will be named the winner. Prizes are still being determined.

Beyonce, New Music: The-Dream Says Singer Will Definitely Drop a 'Couple Records' Before Super Bowl

After a picture was snapped of Beyonce and Jay-Z in the studio, more information is coming from B's inner circle about her upcoming music plans.

The-Dream, who Beyonce worked with on her last album, says that the singer will "definitely" be dropping new music before she performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3.

In an interview with Billboard, The-Dream says he's "involved in every part of the process" with Beyonce's next album.

DJ/producer Don Cannon has been rocking turntables since his uncle gave him his first set at the age of three.

"I think I just watched my uncle pretty much," he tells The BoomBox. "He was a big DJ back in Philly. I was a prodigy, so I watched him do all this stuff, learned it and continued on through high school."

By the age of eight, the West Philadelphia native had begun spinning at some pretty notable events, including his aunt's wedding reception.

Earl Sweatshirt 'Chum' Video and Album Title Announcement

Earl Sweatshirt, one of the most elusive members of the controversial OFWGKTA rap collective has announced the title for his new album and dropped the video to accompany his most recent song release "Chum."

Earl was infamously off the radar for a long time while the rest of Odd Future, especially members Tyler the Creator and Frank Ocean, blasted onto the mainstream hip-hop/R&B scene. Earl returned to the internet world earlier this year and released the track "Home" after hitting 50,000 Twitter followers.

He stuck to Twitter to announce both details about the new video and his upcoming album.

South African Rapper Jub Jub Gets 20 Years in Drag-Race Deaths

JOHANNESBURG (AP) - A South African judge has sentenced a hip-hop star and his co-accused to 20 years in prison for the killings of four schoolchildren in a drag-race crash.

The South African Press Association reported Wednesday that Magistrate Judge Brian Nemavhidi handed down the sentences to Molemo Maarohanye, best known by his stage name Jub Jub, and Themba Tshabalala. The judge previously ruled that the men had been driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the March 8, 2010, crash.

The Roots, Mariah Carey: Group Joins Singer in 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' (VIDEO)

While spreading some holiday cheer, the Roots paired up with an unlikely artist for a song mash-up -- Mariah Carey!

Appearing on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," house band the Roots joined Mariah Carey and school children in singing a toy-instrument rendition of Mariah's hit Christmas song "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

Using different elementary school music instruments like a tambourine, bass drum, kazoo, a xylophone, bongos and more, the artists created a unique hit.

Jay-Z made headlines in October when he chose to ride the subway to his final show at the Barclays Center, but new footage reveals that not all of the passengers understood the commotion surrounding his commute.

The internationally known rapper released footage from his new documentary film in which he's shown explaining who he is to a woman on the train.

"Are you famous?" she asks. His response is both humble and hilarious: "Not very famous -- you don't know me," says the "On to the Next One" hitmaker, "I'll get there someday." The hip-hop mogul then introduces himself as "Jay" to the woman, who reveals her name is Ellen.
