Bills, Bills, Bills – Pic of the Week

The other day, Margaret gave a tour of the Law Library of Congress Reading Room to our new colleague, Tina Gheen.  I tagged along and snapped a couple of pictures.

I spend so much time looking at digital bills that it was a nice change to see them in other formats.  These stacks of legislation are in the area of the Law Library Reading Room that we affectionately refer to as “the Cage.”

We also went inside the Microform Reading Room and saw the Bills & Resolutions section.

What is your preferred format for reading legislation?

On an ipad, looking at a redlined version that I have annotated.

Can you imagine how many forests and ecosystems would have been spared had we not decided that everything needed to be printed, copied, stamped and later digitized so that we the people could read and then try to comprehend it? Political fodder or political folly?
