Biggert Seeks Interns for Willowbrook Office

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) is seeking high school and college-age interns from the 13th Congressional District to work in her Willowbrook Office.  Interns are provided the opportunity to research casework and legislative issues, work with staff on special projects and outreach events, and assist with general office duties.

“My district office is the perfect setting for students who are interested in learning about the federal government or want first-hand knowledge about how Congress operates.  This hands-on experience provides students with the skill sets necessary to find employment and excel in the job market,” said Biggert.  “Our summer interns were extremely helpful in assisting at events and tabulating our summer questionnaire results.  I’m looking forward to getting to know a new group of bright young people.”

Unpaid intern candidates should be motivated, personable, and detail-oriented.  They also must possess strong writing and communication skills.

“Being an intern at Congresswoman Biggert’s office has been such a rewarding and educational experience.  It has been a fantastic opportunity to see how a government office works ‘behind-the-scenes,’ and to witness how the Congresswoman’s work in Washington impacts the lives of those in the 13th District in such a positive way,” said summer intern Mary Naset of Naperville.

The district office staff allows students flexibility in setting their internship hours.  Whether a student can work only a few hours or several days per week, he or she is encouraged to apply.  Interested applicants should email their resume to Abby.Milone@mail.house.gov.

Biggert’s district office is located at 6262 South Route 83, Suite 305, Willowbrook, IL.  For more information, call (630) 655-2052.
