YfrogSocial is Imageshack’s new social network platform aimed at privacy, security and improved communication online. We are actively looking to add an experienced Front-end engineer to our team to help build a robust application capable of handling our new designs and fast-growing volume of users.
Responsibilities
Work with the design and other engineers to build the product features
Translate the user experience envisioned in the design into the application UI
Participate in design reviews, feature brainstorming
Be a team player, collaborating with the other engineers, and help develop best practices
Skills & Requirements
Expert level knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, preferably at a consumer Internet company
Working experience with JQuery, preferably in a product that’s currently in deployment
Familiarity with HTML5 is ideal, experience is desirable
Experience with PHP scripting language
Must have a passion for perfection at a pixel-level, views front-end programming as “art”
Strong cross-browser development experience
Own debugging and unit-testing of code, “pride of authorship”
Keen eye for UI design elegance
2 or more years of experience building front-end for consumer applications
ImageShack is a photo hosting platform which owns yFrog, the media sharing service for Twitter and yFrog Social a new social network. We are actively looking to add a back-end engineer intern to our team to help build a robust back-end capable of handling our fast-growing volume of users and media.
- We are looking for a college student majoring in Computer Science to be a technical intern who has proficiency in java, junit/testng and has experience in developing and testing java based back-end applications.
- Responsibilities
Develop junit, testng test case and run tests to support the quality of software releases
Develop and maintain scripts to support production system
Maintain documentation and communicate change to the rest of the team
Expecting a minimum of 20 hours per week
Skills & Requirements
Strong knowledge of Java 1.5 and later releases
Working knowledge of Unix or Linux
Experience working with Agile Software Development a plus
Experience working with Hbase/Hadoop a huge plus
Knowledge of REST API a plus
Knowledge of Maven and Apache tomcat a plus
Knowledge of scripting languages like PHP, Python and unix shell a plus
Strong communication skills required
