Rehberg Statement on Senate Democrats Decision to Pull $1.1 Trillion Omnibus & Tester Wilderness Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement after Senate Leadership pulled the $1.1 Trillion Omnibus Spending Bill.  In addition to a brand new Montana wilderness bill rider, the Omnibus contained at least 6,600 earmarks and $1 billion in funding for the implementation of the unpopular and recently ruled unconstitutional health care law.

“This was a bad bill that represented everything that’s wrong with how Washington works.  In the end, it failed because of folks like the thousands of Montanans who joined my telephone town hall and the millions of Montanans and Americans who called and emailed Congress expressing their opposition to this irresponsible bill.  I join the majority of Montanans in celebrating its demise.”
