BILLINGS, MT – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement following the President’s announcement of a complete withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of the year.

"The hard work and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform can never be fully repaid, yet it nonetheless deserves recognition from a grateful nation. All Americans want our troops to come home as soon and as safely as possible. We must be certain that this withdrawal is done in a way that not only provides for the long term security of the Iraqi people, but for the entire region as well. Because ultimately, that's a fundamental necessity of our own national security."
