Visclosky Celebrates 2012 American Education Week

Nov 14, 2012

Merrillville, IN – Congressman Visclosky released the following statement in honor of 2012 American Education Week:

“I can think of few better jobs plans than investing in our children’s future. With two 2012 Blue Ribbon Award-winning schools and a number of the top schools in the State of Indiana, our region unquestionably understands the value of a high-quality education. By retaining the best teachers, we ensure that our children develop the skill sets they need to thrive in the economy of the future. By making critical investments in learning, research, and development hubs like Purdue Technology Center and the Center for Innovation and Visualization Studies at Purdue-Calumet, we can maintain and expand a diverse, talented, and highly-paid workforce on par with any in the world. I thank all of our region’s parents, educators, administrators, and support staff for their efforts to build a better Northwest Indiana for the next generation.”
