Representative Denham To Host Transportation & Infrastructure Listening Session In Fresno, CA

Feb 17, 2011 Issues: Transportation

Washington, DC – Rep. Jeff Denham, Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, will host a listening session with Rep. John Mica, Chair of the Transportation & Infrastructure committee in Fresno, CA on February 22, 2011.

The listening session is one piece of a series of nationwide sessions conducted by the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure regarding legislation to reauthorize the Nation’s highway, transit, and highway safety programs. The legislation will help improve the condition of our Nation’s transportation infrastructure and promote job creation. The Committee is seeking input on reducing the number of federal surface transportation programs, cutting government red tape, streamlining the project delivery process, increasing private sector investment in transportation projects, identifying creative financing alternatives, and other ideas for improving accountability and performance in these programs.

Following a period of testimony, the session will open up to a discussion between the panelists. “This listening session is an opportunity for us to hear the concerns and ideas first hand from Valley leaders, business owners and residents,” Rep. Denham said.

Details for the session and a list of the participants are below.

The public is invited to hear the discussion and should RSVP to the Fresno District office at (559) 449.2490.
