Alexander Commends Rapides Native Joseph J. Hernandez for U.S. Naval Academy Acceptance

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, commended Joseph J. Hernandez, a Rapides Parish native, for his recent acceptance to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Hernandez, the son of Michael P. Campbell and Jessica Alcantara, graduated with a 3.65 from Tioga High School in May and 30th in his class. While at the academy, he plans to major in flight science and eventually work for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Alexander stated he enjoyed the opportunity to recognize Hernandez’s achievements by recommending him for entry into this prestigious institution.

“I was proud to nominate Joseph, and I am truly eager to see what his future holds,” said Alexander. “The U.S. Naval Academy will provide him with opportunities that could change his life forever. 

“Joseph has truly made our community proud, and I wish him the best of luck as he moves forward with his education and his service to our country.”

 

U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, represents Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District and serves on the House Appropriations Committee.
