U.S. Capitol Building
- All tours of the U.S. Capitol begin at the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC)
- Tours of the U.S. Capitol are conducted from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Monday through Saturday. (Please inquire about extended hours for private staff-led tours.)
- Similar to airport screening, there are some items that are prohibited in the U.S. Capitol, including food, liquids, and large backpacks. For a complete list of prohibited items please visit http://www.visitthecapitol.gov/Visit/Visitor%20Safety%20and%20Policies/
- If you would like to visit the Senate or House Gallery, please come by our office to pick up gallery passes (we are open M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except for federal holidays). Please be aware the Senate Gallery is only open when the Senate is in session. Cameras, recording devices and cell phones are not allowed in the gallery. (There is a facility in the CVC where you can leave your belongings while you visit the galleries.)
