WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today announced his intention to participate in a widely attended press conference call hosted by Montana organizations and elected officials to discuss the impact of Senator Tester’s Wilderness Bill in Montana. Although the call is not hosted by Rehberg’s office, it is only the most recent opportunity for him to hear directly from Montanans on the plan. Over the past year he has hosted 22 public meetings specifically about this legislation and solicited input from thousands of Montanans by email, Facebook and Twitter.
“When it comes to policy affecting our public lands, the public needs to be heavily involved and their voices need to be heard. Unfortunately, this Wilderness bill was crafted behind closed doors by a small group of special interests,” said Rehberg, a member of the Congressional Western Caucus. “As Montana’s Congressman, it’s my job to make sure folks in Montana have a seat at the table and a voice in the process. I look forward to hearing directly from this diverse group of Montanans on an issue that affects the public land we all love.”
