Halifax International Security Forum
Beginning Friday, Senator John McCain and I will lead a bipartisan congressional delegation to the Halifax International Security Forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The forum will bring together more than 300 leaders from 50 countries for weekend-long discussions on some of the world's most pressing security issues.
This is the fourth time Senator McCain and I have co-led a delegation to Halifax, and I look forward to partnering with him at this important conference. Especially when dealing with international security, we must lead in a bipartisan fashion. This forum is a critical opportunity for world leaders and experts in security policy and foreign affairs to share opinions, generate new ideas, and seek innovative solutions to global challenges. As a member of the Senate Committees on Armed Services and Intelligence, I am privileged to be playing a key role in this conference.
While in Halifax, I will attend sessions and speak on a panel to discuss American global leadership in the wake of the 2012 election.
The conference will be streamed live on the Halifax Forum's website. You can also follow the forum on Twitter (@Halifaxtheforum), or follow me (@MarkUdall) for notifications about my participation in the forum.
