- One of the most beneficial ways I can use my time is with constituents, talking about important issues at community events. Over the weekend, I had a chance to visit with New Mexicans in Las Cruces. Here's a photo of me with Meredith and her son Brenner at the Las Cruces tree lighting ceremony.
- I'm saddened by the passing of Dorothy Thomas, a true public servant who worked tirelessly for New Mexicans, serving in Congressman Joe Skeen's office for over two decades. Dorothy was a wonderful example to her fellow Las Crucens, and will be missed by the community she served in so many ways. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to everyone who participated in my survey on how to avoid the fiscal cliff. If you haven't voiced your opinion yet, do so here: http://pearce.house.gov/SimpleCutsSimpleSolutions- This weekend, I had the honor of welcoming home members of the same National Guard unit I visited overseas last month. To all those serving in the name of freedom, and their families: Thank you.
- Wishing a very happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating tonight in
New Mexico and around the world - This says everything. Dad just returned from 9 month tour of duty
in the Sinai. They serve that our families might be safe and at peace. - Congratulations to the Las Cruces Bulldawgs on taking state! And, congratulations to Goddard High on taking the 4A State Title!

Fiscal Cliff debate continues in Washington. Make your voice heard! What wasteful spending would YOU control, alter, or delete to get our country back on track?
Take this survey and tell Washington what you would cut.
http://pearce.house.gov/SimpleCutsSimpleSolutions- 71 years later, today continues to live in infamy. Please join me in remembering all those lost at Pearl Harbor, and all those who have served in the cause of freedom.
- I agree with our caller from Cloudcroft. He made a good comment about the national debt. I am in Washington to fight for the people of New Mexico - we need to cut the spending, not the people.
- I just received a great comment from Karen in Carlsbad concerning the national budget. I agree with Karen - we need to cut spending, but we cannot cut the support to our soldiers still in harm's way.

- At a press conference today discussing tax reform, the fiscal cliff, and the solutions Americans need.
- Today, WSMR is hosting a farewell ceremony for the troops in the 595 Sapper Co., 2nd Engineer Battalion, deploying to Afghanistan. As always, these brave men and women will remain in my prayers, as will their families. I ask all my fellow New Mexicans to join me in supporting those families unable to spend the holidays with their loved ones serving abroad.
- Concerned about the jobs that will be affected by the listing of the lesser prairie chicken? Call FWS Director Dan Ashe at 202-208-4717 to make sure your voice is heard!

Here we go again... Our jobs and our way of life in southern New Mexico continue to come under assault. The FWS, at the behest not of scientists, but of special interest lawyers, moved today to list the lesser prairie chicken under the End...angered Species Act.See More
I'm confident that the FWS has learned by now that New Mexico successfully protects our species through the local, state and regional agreements I've always supported. I will continue to hold the FWS accountable to allow a balanced, local approach that protects the species without threatening New Mexico’s jobs.”Congressman Steve Pearce shared a link.
Yesterday in a hearing of the Financial Services Committee, I asked regulators to defend the misapplied regulations that are threatening New Mexico's community banks. I was disappointed with their answers--what do you think?- Behind the Scenes: Every day that I am in Washington, I have a hectic schedule that consists of committee hearings, staff briefings, press calls, and most importantly, constituent meetings.
In order to get everywhere on time, I carry a card with all of my meeting times and locations. Here is a photo of me yesterday, taking a look at my schedule card in the elevator. Running from meeting to meeting, this is an immense help. - Today I also had a chance to stop by and sign some holiday cards for military heroes. Thank you to the Red Cross for hosting this event, I appreciate the opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas to active military and wounded warriors.
- Just had a quick visit with the Pentagon Channel to record a message for our troops for the holidays. Thank you to all who serve!

Republicans talk a lot about job-killing regulations. Regulations aren't just talking points, they are real challenges that American job-creators must face. Take a look at www.Regulations.gov, where you can see new and upcoming regulations. There are 128 new regulations posted so far today.- This month, I am proud to recognize American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage month. New Mexico’s Native American pueblos, tribes, and nations remain a vital part of our heritage, and are actively helping to build New Mexico’s future. I ask my fellow New Mexicans to join me in celebrating the people who make up an integral part of New Mexico's distinctive culture.

Congratulations to the NMSU Volleyball team, 2012 WAC Champions! And good luck in the NCAA Tournament! Go Aggies!- Today, people will gather together across our great nation to celebrate a uniquely American holiday. I always look forward to Thanksgiving as a time to reflect and thank God for all I have to be thankful for: my family, friends, and the freedoms we enjoy every day. Despite our present struggles, this is a time to come together and give thanks for the blessings we have as Americans. This Thanksgiving, I encourage my fellow New Mexicans to remember in their thoughts and prayers the millions of Americans who are out of work, as well as those in uniform who are unable to be with their families today.
