Landscape Enforcement

During the recent drought, the City of Azusa relaxed its enforcement of unmaintained landscaping within the city boundaries. The Azusa Utility Board has since removed all Phase II watering restrictions. The City is advising all property owners, property managers and tenants of rental properties that Code Enforcement will resume enforcement of the City’s landscape ordinance. Inspectors will begin to notify all the above whenever their landscaping efforts fall below the minimum standards of City Ordinance 34-235 (c4) of the Azusa Municipal Code.

Compliance is essential with the standards in the Azusa Municipal Code in order to maintain Azusa as a healthy, safe and clean place to live, work and play. If you have any questions, please call the Community Improvement Division at (626) 812-5265, or you can E-mail us at:

Official  Cooling Centers

Hot weather is being predicted for much of this summer. Temperatures are expected to go above 100 degrees in parts of the desert, mountains, and the San Gabriel Valley areas of Southern California.

The Azusa Senior Center at 740 N. Dalton, Azusa City Library at 729 N. Dalton and Memorial Park at 320 N. Orange were officially declared “Cooling Centers” by the Azusa City Council. The summer plan will be coordinated through the Recreation and Family Services Department of the City with two main objectives: to provide a place to cool off when the temperature rises to 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above, and to provide all persons with water to prevent dehydration, heat stroke and the onset of hyperthermia.
