- I've been an active member of the Bowling Green Lions Club for years and support the work of Lions Clubs International on behalf of the visually impaired. Today I helped cook and serve at our annual Bean & Cornbread Luncheon at the Presbyte...rian Church. I tried to bring some "surgical precision" to cooking hundreds of cornmeal pancakes on a long line of hot griddles -- mixed, of course, with lots of socializing across the food service line! I often talk about how effective and efficient community and faith-based groups are in meeting the needs of others. I'm proud to be part of a group that does just that and offer my thanks to my fellow citizens across this great nation who volunteer to make a difference in their own backyard -- and around the world.See More

Defense and war spending has grown 137% since 2001. That kind of growth is not sustainable. Adm. Michael Mullen stated earlier this year that the biggest threat to our national security is our debt.
If debt is our gravest threat, adding to the debt by expanding military spending further threatens our national security.- ActivityNovemberPeople Who Like This114
