House Passes Repeal Of Obamacare; The American People Deserve Better, Says Ros-Lehtinen

Jul 11, 2012 Issues: Economy and Jobs, Health, Tax Reform

Washington D.C. – Today Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) voted for H.R. 6079, the Repeal of Obamacare Act.  The legislation passed by a vote of 244 to 185, and it would repeal the President’s healthcare reform law.

Said Ros-Lehtinen: “Although the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare was constitutional, it is still horrible public policy.  Obamacare was sold as a way to keep healthcare costs down.  It didn’t.  The President promised that Americans could keep their current healthcare plans.  They won’t.  Premiums are already going up and small-businesses are feeling the crunch.

I fully support this repeal and I hope my Senate colleagues give this bill the serious consideration it merits.  The American people deserve better and as their elected representatives we must deliver.”
