Berg Honored with "Fueling Growth" Award

Congressman Rick Berg, right, receives 2011 “Fueling Growth” award from Growth Energy in Washington, DC on September 21, 2011

Washington, D.C. –Congressman Rick Berg today was awarded with the 2011 “Fueling Growth” award from Growth Energy, an organization representing American ethanol and renewable energy producers, for his work toward a national, long-term energy plan which embraces an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy development.

“A long-term national energy plan is a critical aspect of our nation’s economic recovery,” Berg stated. “To break our dependence on foreign oil, our nation must work toward an energy strategy that embraces both traditional and renewable energy sources. Adopting a common sense, all-of-the-above approach, like we have in North Dakota, will not only help create good American jobs, but will be essential as we work to make our country energy independent.”

Congressman Berg is a member of the House Action Energy Team and has worked to help the House pass multiple pieces of legislation that would expand American energy production and create jobs.  Berg actively worked with EMPOWER North Dakota, a plan that recognized the diverse potential of energy resources in North Dakota and developed bipartisan policy and private/public partnership to encourage production of these resources.
