Congressman, Please compromise with the dems and agree to let the tax cuts expire on the rich, but NOT the middle class. YOu know in your heart its the right thing to do. Raising the eligible age of medicare to 67 is not the way to go. The rich can afford to pay a couple more percentage points. the middle class can not! help us and be a leader, not a follower of the rest of the GOP.

Dear Mr. Meehan: As a concerned American, I’m calling on you to reject the manufactured crisis that the Obama administration and his allies in the liberal media are calling the fiscal cliff. I urge you to fight for hard-working families and small businesses by introducing and enacting responsible, free-market economic policies that benefit all Americans. Big government, with it’s out-of-control taxing and spending, is what got our nation into this financial mess. Bigger government, higher taxes and increased spending will only make things worse. I'm asking you and other members of Congress to rein in Obama's tax-and-spend policies -- rejecting their calls for higher taxes and additional spending. The fiscal cliff is not an actual crisis. They are buzz words that are being used to allow President Obama and his supporters to fool the American people into thinking that higher taxes and more government spending are needed to rescue an economy that’s in a virtual freefall as a result of their own failed policies. Our nation is desperate for real financial accountability and responsibility that will lead to the creation of a sound economic and financial plan that creates jobs, shrinks the federal deficit and doesn't impose an unfair tax burden on any American citizens. As you negotiate a new budget deal to avert the so-called fiscal cliff, I urge you to support lower taxes and decreased spending, so that the United States can get back on the road to economic prosperity. Thank you.

Mr. Meehan, As a middle-class Pennsylvanian, I urge you to compromise, and put an end to this fiscal crisis. It is not possible to solve this dilemma solely with spending cuts and closing tax loop holes. In closing loop holes and deductions, it is difficult to guarantee the changes won't effect some of our more insecure and vulnerable citizens. No one is enthusiastic about higher taxes, but it is necessary to responsibly deal with our fiscal situation. Major cuts to programs designed to help the poor, elderly, and insecure, is not the way to get the country heading in the right direction. Take a look at your local food cupboard. The cupboard the serves the William Penn School District has experienced significantly increased demand. The Boy Scout canned food drive last month brought in about 2/3 of what they typically collect. That drive used to keep the cupboard going for 2 months, now it lasts 2 weeks. It won't be easy, but I am willing to pay more to reduce the debt, and keep the country running and providing critical services. Most Americans feel this way. If you and the rest of Congress are itching to run off a cliff, make like lemmings and do so, but don't drag the American people with you.
