Udall Congratulates Pueblo Community College on Receiving $14.1 Million Competitive Grant
Funds Will Be Used To Improve Education, Training Programs to Help Coloradans Find Jobs
Mark Udall congratulated Pueblo Community College today on its receipt of $14.1 million in competitive grant funds from the U.S. Department of Labor. The funds will help the college expand its capacity to provide education and training services to individuals to increase their chances of securing high-quality employment.
“Colorado is home to some of the most talented, capable workers in the country,” Udall said. “Pueblo Community College and the rest of Colorado’s community colleges have an important role to play in creating a workforce ready for our 21st century economy. These competitive grant funds will help more Coloradans find jobs and boost our economy.”
The competitive grant funds were issued under the Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training program. Pueblo Community College will use the funds to take its mobile labs throughout rural areas of southern Colorado to give students hands-on experience and training to prepare them for work in health professions.
