Congresswoman Hirono Statement in Celebration of Thanksgiving

Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono (HI-02) today released the following statement in celebration of Thanksgiving, as observed tomorrow:
“On this weekend devoted to sharing gratitude, I encourage everyone to spend time reaching out and thanking the many people who have enriched your lives.
“In light of the recent natural disasters that have impacted our nation, we are all so grateful to the first responders and emergency crews around the country who have selflessly put themselves in harm’s way in order to help others.
“This is also a time to thank the members of our armed services and especially those family members separated from loved ones serving our country overseas. The numerous sacrifices made by our military families must never be overlooked.
“On behalf of my husband Leighton and my mother Laura, I would like to wish you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving."
