to begin negotiating ways to avoid that fiscal cleft.

But time is not on their side and we are joined by congressman from -- side that I'll.

Republican Cory Gardner from the -- state of Colorado and ably find Wisconsin is represented by Democrat.

Ron kind gentlemen good to see you congressman -- you -- There's discussion a story in the Wall Street Journal today.

About change to the sequestered -- get rid of that and basically instead of that put in place and spending cuts may be tax increases.

That would get us maybe six months into the middle of next year.

I want to hear from both of you starting with congress in time do you agree with a temporary measure to avoid the big decisions that need to be made.

day in advance of the fiscal cliff is reaching a long term deficit reduction deal and now we need to let the political dust -- figure -- a way for us to come together.

Listen to each other and work hard to find some common ground and the -- eighty CEOs you gave the recommendation to us recently it's gonna have to entail some revenue in major spending reform in the budget.

To get this done that's going to be I think the fair and balanced approach moving forward.

And that's something that hopefully brought going to be working in focusing on here in the weeks before the end of the year.

Before the congressman -- but congressman I don't want you to answer can you didn't get that done can you do something big picture.

Avoid temporary measure by the end of the year.

You know if we can get a process in place with some broader outlines of what that agreement will look like -- going into the next -- would be appropriate.

But I want -- picture that fiscal cliff remains otherwise the pressure's gonna get taken off from congress and will be little in some of them frost and negotiate.

And a compromise at the end of the day and listen.

-- a -- President Obama won a big electoral victory it was still pulls popular vote we still have divided government.

So we're gonna have to cooperate with each other in order to reach that type of an agreement.

Well congressman gardener he's certainly reaching over to -- but I wanted to get -- answer first.

That question about would you be comparable with something temporary that just gets us to mid year.

But I think when it comes the issue of sequestration it set a plan in place where we start reducing spending and that's what we need to do we need to reduce spending and grow our economy.

So I would not support something that avoided spending.

Cuts but I would support something they did in a different order of the did it in a way that doesn't cause the kind of damage to our national defense that sequestration could.

So we can find something that would reduce spending give us the time we need to put together overall comprehensive tax reform to grow our economy and reduce spending even more.

-- that can be so that we could support.

Congressman -- do you think -- that tax increases.

-- even if they're just on the well they are inevitable for this country.

No I don't think there -- never -- do you think that we need comprehensive tax reform in this nation to grow the economy.

That we put revenue on the table through a series of the plans that would bring down taxes but also grow the economy bring more revenue to the federal government.

And that tax increases the president's plan.

That would increase -- attacks on a million small businesses around the nation and hurt according to Ernst and young as many as 700000 jobs in this nation.

congressman -- do you think tax increases on that note did you think.

Tax reform is -- ball and tax increases just rate increases on some groups of people are avoidable.

--

They and I agree with -- we do need comprehensive tax reform we have a monstrosity of a tax code is very inefficient it's not mean that type of growth that we need in this country.

To help businesses large and small to be as competitive as they need to be.

But listen you know revenue is revenue whether we adjust the marginal rates -- take away some expenditures and revenue is something that -- CEO said we we need.

And that every bipartisan commission that's been formed to look and find solutions to this have concluded -- solved -- Holly get that additional revenue I think we're gonna be able to reach agreement on -- spending that we've got to come to grips with in the largest and fastest growing areas spending as rising health care costs.

I think we gotta get rid of fee for service photo of value for all come based reimbursement system be tremendous amount of savings in the federal budget if we can do that.

That's really going to be -- key to getting our fiscal house in order.

Now want you to gentleman has taken by -- and have the rest of Washington is listening Henis and -- let -- You don't want to do we know that your day and -- good to see you guys representative Ron kind of Wisconsin and court Gardiner of Colorado gentlemen have a great weekend and get the work they do as well.
