Trees for Troops - Delivering the Spirit of Christmas

Trees for Troops to Deliver Approximately 18,000 Trees at 62 Bases in 2012

Imagine a smiling group of U.S. troops gathered around a Christmas Tree that was grown on an American farm and express shipped to arrive fresh and green somewhere on the other side of the world, just in time for Christmas. Or, imagine the families of deployed troops sharing joyous memories of Christmas through the gift of free, real Christmas Trees. Trees for Troops® makes this vision a reality!

International Kickoff, Nov. 20

The 2012 program kicked off in a big way November 20 at Dull's Tree Farm in Thorntown, Indiana. The event was filled with excitement as more than 50 volunteers -- including FedEx employees, Future Farmers of America and the National Guard -- helped organize, box and load 300 trees to be shipped overseas. Trees were donated by members of the Indiana Christmas Tree Association, and shipping was donated by FedEx. The lucky recipients are two U.S. bases in Kuwait (Camp LSA and Camp Virginia) and troops stationed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. Trees for Troops Weekend, Nov. 30-Dec. 2

Consumers can be a part of this wonderful program by visiting one of the 30+ farms and retail lots across the country that are participating in Trees for Troops Weekend this year. Each of these locations will have a FedEx trailer parked at their farm/lot so you can purchase a tree and then place it on the truck to be donated and delivered to a military family at one of our participating bases the following week. View the 2012 Trees for Troops Weekend Locations.

U.S. Base Deliveries

This year, Trees for Troops will deliver approximately 18,000 trees in total, with a majority of those going to military families at bases across the U.S.  The deliveries will take place at 62 bases covering every branch of the armed services.  View our complete delivery schedule here to see when Trees for Troops will be at each base.

About Trees for Troops

Trees for Troops, a program of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, provides farm-grown Christmas Trees to armed forces members and their families in the U.S. and stationed overseas. Through cash contributions, donated Christmas Trees, the work of many volunteers, and the generous support of our shipping sponsor FedEx, Trees for Troops has brought the true spirit of Christmas to thousands of deserving service men and women and their families. Since 2005, Trees for Troops has provided 103,186 Christmas Trees to military families and troops in the United States and overseas. Each year, thousands of Christmas Tees are donated by American farm families and the public, and FedEx delivers these trees to more than 60 military bases. Thank you for your support, and Merry Christmas!
