Notre Dame Prep won top honors at the Arizona Interscholastic Association Division II State Championship in both the swim and dive divisions, a press release states.

After an impressive fourth place finish as a freshman in 2011, sophomore Madeline Russell claimed the division’s 2012 Dive State Championship with 415.25 points.

Junior Samantha Getzen swam back-to-back events to win State Championship titles for the 100-Yard Butterfly and the 100-Yard Freestyle, the release states.

Samantha was recently named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Team.

The team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event.
