26th Annual Adoption Day
Saturday November, 17, 10:00 am at DC Courts
The 26th Annual DC Adoption Day ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 17, from 10am to noon on the third floor atrium of Moultrie Courthouse (500 Indiana Avenue, NW). This year’s program will highlight children’s literacy, and the importance of developing a love of reading from an early age. Reese Hoffa, Shot Put bronze medalist in the 2012 London Olympic Games and former foster child, will be our guest speaker. Barbara Harrison, NBC4 anchor and host of Wednesday’s Child, will be our mistress of ceremonies. This celebration is the cornerstone of the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency’s efforts to encourage members of the community to adopt children who are currently in foster care and to provide them with permanent and loving homes. More than 20 children will have their adoptions finalized during the ceremony, and the event will feature performances by talented local youth. A reception will immediately follow the program. If you are interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent, there will be social workers present to talk with you about the process. Adoption Day Awareness Balloon Release
Tuesday November, 13, 3:30 pm at Blount County DHR , Oneonta, Alabama
In recognitions of National Adoption Day Blount County DHR in partnership with the City of Oneonta and APAC(Carla Wilson Representative) Alabama Post Adoption Connections will have a Balloon Release for all children adopted in Blount County within the last fiscal year and any adoptive parents. Also children in waiting will be invited along with their foster parents. DHR staff to participate and Mayor, Juvenile Court Judge, and Probate Judge to be invited to attend event from 3:30 to 4:30 on Tuesday November 13, 2012.
Adoption Day Celebration

The Office of Children's Services along with the Alaska Center for Resource Families is hosting a celebration with families for adoptions finalized on Adoption Day. A ceremony will be held and lunch will be served. There will be a photographer, crafts,and a balloon twister.

Adoption Celebration

Alaska Center for Resource Families and the Office of Children's Services will hold an Adoption Celebration at North Bowl for families that finalized their adoptions over the past year. The kids can bowl for up to 2 hours before lunch and the adults can work on LifeBooks. Afterwards we will entertain the kids with a balloon artist and a magician while the adults share their personal adoption stories in the next room.
Maricopa County National Adoption Day

Maricopa County has been a part of National Adoption Day since the beginning! Our families are treated to ice cream and cake, snacks and drinks, a professional photographer who captures your new family in an 8x10 photo as a gift to you along with a matching frame. The children receive gift bags and there is entertainment including music, games, clowns, and lots of fun!!!
Tucson Adoption Day In The Park

Alameda County's 13th Annual Adoption Day

Alameda County will hold its 13th Annual Adoption Day on Friday afternoon, November 16, 2012. This is an annual collaboration between Alameda County Superior Court and Alameda County Social Services Agency.

National Adoption Day, PlacerKids along with the Placer County Children's System of Care will host Adoption Day at the Historic Courthouse in Auburn, joining family courts across the nation that open their doors and volunteer their time to finalize the adoptions of thousands of children in care. 17 local children will join their forever families as their adoptions finalize at the event in Auburn.
Fresno County Adoption Day

Adoption Day in Fresno County is a joint effort in celebrating permanency for some of our children in foster care. Fresno County Department of Social Services coordinates the event with other local Foster Family and Adoption agencies where families can come together and celebrate their adoption finalizations.
National Adoption Day Los Angeles

For the 13th consecutive year, Los Angeles will celebrate National Adoption Day at the Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court with the finalization of 110 foster children's adoptions. We will celebrate National Adoption Day on Friday, November 16, with a press conference at 12:30 pm (5th floor) led by Presiding Judge Michael Nash, followed by adoptions hearings from 1:30 pm through 4:00 pm. The courthouse will be decorated festively with balloons, and there will be refreshments, arts and crafts, and entertainment for the children and families. As part of the festivities, “My Little Pony” vocal actress and singer Bettina Bush will host a holiday celebration for children at the courthouse in honor of National Adoption Day.
