Office of Policy (OP)

The Office of Policy identifies, develops and effectively communicates ICE’s organizational priorities and policies to internal and external stakeholders. The office’s professional staff focuses on the following key program areas: risk and strategic management, operations and international affairs, and management policy.

The Office of Policy serves all ICE personnel through policy analysis, legislative analysis, risk and strategic initiatives, and policy briefings. The office maintains a solid record of client service, with a strong commitment to developing and promoting policy research and information services to enhance ICE’s performance and reputation.

Working closely with other ICE offices, the Office of Policy prepares and promotes ICE policy that is in the best interest of the agency and the Department of Homeland Security, and also participates in interagency initiatives. The office continues to seek out opportunities to support ICE’s mission and improve ICE efficiencies and effectiveness.

Leadership

Assistant Director, Policy

Tracey Bardorf is assistant director of the Office of Policy for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, Washington, D.C.

Most recently, Ms. Bardorf served in the agency's Office of the Director. She served as special advisor to the director working on international strategy and policy and ICE's engagement with Mexico.

Prior to joining ICE, Ms. Bardorf served as the Department of Justice's resident legal advisor in Mexico City and as an assistant U.S. attorney in Phoenix, where she tried federal criminal cases and appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court. She also spent several years working in private legal practice and was a law clerk for both state and federal judges.

Ms. Bardorf is a member of the Senior Executive Service and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish literature from Saint Anselm College and a Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University.
