Division of Safety and Risk Management (DSRM)
The Division of Safety and Risk Management provides professional and technical leadership and assistance in managing and administering Bureau-wide safety, occupational health, tort and employee claims, motor vehicle operator program, FECA/OWCP Injury Compensation Program, Indian Highway Safety Program, and the Safety Management Information System (SMIS) reporting requirement. It also develops and implements policies and procedures, provides technical assistance and guidance to Bureau management, field activities and tribal communities and inspects and evaluates Bureau-controlled facilities or equipment for safety and health deficiencies or hazardous conditions and determines required actions.
